What a coincidence that just minutes (seconds?) before I had checked back here to post my final discovery solution (after some time of experimentation), I read your response that it's indeed the OTS link button left in the 'off' position that was the total source of the problem. Mike, thanks for confirming that it is indeed 'Live8Beat' and 'Hiphop1' which are the default style & multipad files that get initially loaded before you load in your custom Reg File.
