If you start sampling in the keyboard you will find you need the space for storing your samples. If you won't be sampling, you will have tons of memory for storing songs and styles you might create yourself or download from the internet. I formated the drive with version 3.1 and later I was told by Malcomb at Korg that 3.1 had a problem with hard drive partition space and that it was better to use 3.0 instead for this exact reason.
