It's called reality check... and it can improve your performance considerably.

An old school friend of mine who I hadn't seen for many years turned out to be a really great public speaker. When I asked him how he did it he said that he ocassionally video tapes his speaches, but always audio tapes them... every one. He then listens to the tapes that same day, usually on the way back home after a speach, and critically analyzes them. For him it's worked wonders.

No, I haven't done it yet, but I should, and I have intentions of doing it.
