Synthzone member, good friend and fellow entertainer Bob Lee lost his battle with cancer last night at 7 p.m.. Bob and I have been the best of friends for the past four years, we often provided each other with jobs and I talked with him nearly every evening.

A few months ago he began developing cardiac problems, which resulted in bypass surgery. Shortly after the surgery, from which he quickly recovered, he said he was having problems swallowing and losing his voice. He finally sought medical attention and was diagnosed with a large tumor in his upper chest, one that blocked his esophagus. The tumor was biopsied and came back as malignant. The cancer quickly spread to his liver and other organs.

After a single chemotherapy treatment he was admitted to the VA Hospital in Baltimore where his condition rapidly deteriorated. He was transferred to Gilchrest Hospice Monday, went into a coma and died last night.

Bob performed 250 to 300 jobs a year in the Baltimore Metropolitan area for more than a decade, primarily at nursing homes, assisted living facilities and retirement centers. He also performed for private parties and some nite club work during the time I was privileged to know him. He was a wonderful person, a good friend, and will be missed by everyone who knew him.
