I thought I'd start a separate thread for this topic.

How difficult is it with a style (from anywhere) that you really like to duplicate it...by hand.....by software.....by conversion, etc?

I've been playing through many generations of Yamaha and Roland arrangers. Years ago, the styles were exciting (to ME anyway). Now it seems like the styles in the new machines are just an afterthought after they've built the keyboard itself.

Just the Roland styles alone from back then are incredibly creative. I still have hundreds and hundreds of them in Roland format. If I can make them into a Korg format, I can see me getting back into playing music.

BTW......I had a good hard think. THAT is the main thing that's causing me NOT to get back into playing.......no inspiration with the new styles. Whatever work I've been doing these last few years has been on the accordion or the piano.
