Loving the music you understand is different. The joy of creating the music you understand stirs your emotions � there are times when you hate to stop playing.

I will play the music I understand until I no longer exist. It still stirs my emotions. I do not get tired of playing the same songs; I can play Misty with 400 variations and different harmonies depending on my mood.


John....thanks for posting this. You made me realize something. I'm not tired of playing music. I forgot that I could sit at the piano and play Elvis's "Until It's Time For You To Go" and other favorites in variations for an eternity.

As I think about it now, what I'm tired of is having to continually adapt to this ever changing music business. And life in general if you want to stay on top of the game. Everything is complicated now. I don't have enough time anymore to get to enjoy the pleasure that I used to from playing my favorite songs in "400 variations!"

So now I need to remember, what we both wrote here, as I seek a solution to my burnout.
