Lived in S DAK for 35 years before moving back to MN. Went to the Rallies a half dozen times on a bike...fun times back when...nuts now.

Western MN, where I live, is as good a place to bike as any. Gorgeous scenery and fun roads to bike on starting 10 miles away from where I live.

Wisdom and finances suggest just stay away from biking.

On the flip side, several of my closest friends bike and I'm much younger than they are.
