That is a good system for for some,to be sure. The problem with Donny is that he has several hundred songs divided by 8 banks,and couldn't possibly remember what he has without much work. When you set up your own system,like you, you know what you set up.
As far as I'm concerned,that would work,except I don't use categories,but all single titles per bank. When I prepare for a gig,I make a list of songs with logical tempos,genre's,etc. In addition, I have 150 core memory songs that is handy for variations. We all work a little differently. I,for example,prepare everything ahead of time and don't take requests. If I get one, I can slide it into a song reasonable close. I play the same venues,and constantly rework my lists.
So far, I love the SX ,too.
