It’s the difference in approach to music creation, and overall operation Donny. Today’s workstations sound just as good as top end arrangers. However, the operating system on workstations tend to be considerably more complicated. Sure, you can get “arranger like” functionality with the more advanced arps they have, but it’s still with limitations.
Creating your own music is much more involved on the workstations too. They’ve simplified it more over the years, but the arranger is going to do it faster requiring less fiddling with settings, but the end result for both is still the same.
