Have you checked out the RedSound Darkstar XP-2 ? It's a VA synth but it's only $199.99 . It's just a straight synthesizer , no sequencer , no effects . Analog synthesizers don't have sequencers except for a few of them ( i.e. Roland SH-101 , SCI PRO-ONE , ROLAND MC-202 , YAMAHA CS-30L , OBERHEIM OB-1 ) . Plus they generally don't have effects , some may have a chorus circuit but that's about it . The Redsound is a fat sounding synthesizer that has plenty of features . Also the Yamaha AN-100 is down to $199.99 at guitar center , mainly because it's been discontinued but that just means a better deal . The Redsound is a 8 voice synth , the Korg PolySix and Roland Juno-60 are only 6 voice . Plus the Roland Juno-60 and Korg Polysix have programmable memories that are kept by a Nickel cadium battery , if it leaked on the circuit board , it will destroy it .
