Well let's add some fuel to it - how did everyone come by their username?

For myself, Big Red comes from the fact that I'm 6'1" and 250 lbs. and used to have red hair (unfortunately it's more of a silver colour now).

For the record I live near Edmonton, Alberta out on the cool, cool prairie.

Mine's a no brainer.....trtjazz....trt my initials jazz because it's what I'm mainly in to.

You'll never guess. What surprises me is that I've never seen this handle elsewhere on the net, considering how many pilots there are. Over 60,000 registered pilots in Canada alone (which is where I'm from - Ontario).

My oscarfan ID is because I am a lifelong fanatic of Oscar Peterson - long before I changed from piano to electronic keyboard.

easy .. last name "Madalone" (ancestors from 'Maddaloni, Italy') .... I've always been very active with our children through the years, and my sons high school friends started calling me that when we played softball together... I've also been called Big Tony (6'2", high 200's), and a number of years ago my son nicknamed me Big Dog, as a compliment, ( "if you can't run with the big dogs....") ...

Well Squeak_D was simple for me.. My real nick name is actually Squeakie, and I get called by that all the time.. Even in college my instructors called me Squeakie. Been called Squeakie for years.. One of those nicknames that I'll never be able to drop.. the Squeak_D part came about with me shortening up Squeakie to just plain Squeak, and the D is for my first name which is Daniel.

Bebop is what I lived, breathed and played for years. I have had this nick name going back to the comm 64 and the first on line service there was in the 80's. I even get snail mail addressed to Bebop and lotsa phone calls for Bebop. I think if I didn't have it written down in my computer address I would forget my name is:

When I decided to form a new band several years ago, the group decided on the name "Travlin' Light." A few years later, shortly after the group broke up, my spouse said I should change the name to "Travlin' Easy" because I had the "easy" job of being a freelance outdoor writer and working from a home office, and the only time I left the office was when I played music and because I was having fun, that job must have also been easy. The rest is history.

Well where to start?

My real name being Baroness Lucia Von Strumpetta (of the Kensington Strumpetta's)obviously was far too much of a mouthfull to be used as my nick. Also I have often found that my title is intimidating to ordinary people. People tend only to see the title and never the talent

The sacrifices one has had to make to appear normal ( ) have oft been hardly bearable. You want to try playing a 9000PRO in full ballgown and tiarra. Not easy I can tell you! Have you ever held a sm58 with a diamond as big as Scunthorpe on your digit?

Only last week my dear cousin (we call her madge you call her majesty) commanded a musical evening at the palace. You should have seen me struggle to get my organ up the mall! Prince Edward was sulking all night because I had not included any Dusty Springfield in the program. Dear boy cheered up somewhat though when I did a few Judy Garland standards. That boy worries me sometimes.

Of course that was not the end of it! Oh no! The Coldstream Guards all but hijacked me on the way out and insisted I perform in the barrackroom all over again. I am known throughout the capital for my willingness to serve the military and so how could I refuse.

Yep...my email is now always flooded with 'reply notifications' from that thread...didn't think it was gonna be that huge. Over 100 replies, I think only 1 email was directed to me ha.ha.ha..

My name is obviously because I was a devoted Technics KN series fan for years. Although now I wanna pick something less "brand minded"...

Mine's a no-brainer,
and stems from being on the net for quite a few years now, and wanting to maintian a level of anonymity.

S0C9 - is a standard IBM mainframe ABEND - or abnormal termination (GPF in windows) code. S= system level, and 0C9 (zero-charlie-niner) is the response code. It does actually mean something. Can you tell I do computers for a living.. ??

I also use S0C7 and S0C4 sometimes - but not here !! Ta-da !!

And... I live in the Dallas-Ft.Worth areas of TEXAS, USA.

One of my favotrite things to listen to when I was growing up was good blues music. When Robin Trower released the power blues album " Bridge of sighs ", I was totally hooked. My early practices included me adding distorted organs to some of the tunes on his albums. Distorted organ was perfect for me too, because nothing sounded as distorted and awful as my first organ ( a Silvertone .. circa maybe 1967 )

Although I tend to like jazz fusion and synth rock / electronic music even more than blues, sometimes I tend to return to my earliest roots in listening and playing. Not only that, but "jazzplayer" and "electroplayer" just don't have quite the same ring.
