I wonder what they mean by 700 Watts of Total Power?

Scott...Hoping to hear some KB users reviews with this system soon......its either good or it sux.

For 7.1 I don't think it would add anything beyond what 5.1 does since you convert to stereo anyway.

I see by the specs that it is also 700 watts RMS. That "Total Power" thing must some big words the advertizing boys came up with.

Actually those speakers are by Creative Labs. The z5500's still show up on the Logitech site.

Keep the product info coming guys, it's always good to see what's out there. It's much better to have a wide variety of toys to pick from

To me they're suggesting pep power which makes the actual wattage 350 watts.

The Z5500 has 1010 watts pep or 505 watts

I use 7 speakers on my z5500 I added a extra center speaker that helps the mid range a bit and use these 2 speakers on each side to the rear a bit to doulble as monitors.....

You got that right, but either wire, or take out a mortgage and buy a bose "or" hire a gorrila and buy a 1 ton van to carry the good old stuff..(What ever works for each guy) (not a easy solution) ......

This might be good in a 'stable' environment, but the 55's cover most gigs for me, and if I need more for a larger gig or outdoor use, I use bigger cabs with the sub instead of the sats ... Why would we want to add two more sats to whatever rig set up we might have for the 55s ?!? ... doesn't make much sense for me ...

Something is fishy. I can't imagine that the RMS power would be the same as total burst power rating.

I think that one or the other is a misprint, but it makes me doubt both.
