Hi Bambino,
That`s great that you like your 2000. There is a lot of talk (mostly from me ) about the 2000 I`m glad you got the new version. I`m still "sitting on the fence",so to speak and have not made up my mind to try another or get somthing else. Sorry can`t help as far as the midi files you`re look for, you might try a "google search" somthing is bound to show up. Anyway welcome to this "corner of the web"

I hope soon that my dealer will get a version 1.2 2000 in for me. I'm working with a 1000 as a loaner while still waiting for my original version 2000( 1.0 ) to be replaced by Yamaha. I too would like to try another, but I have no idea what I wanna try at this point that would suit me better for live play. The PA80 I have works nicely at home and for studio work, but it doesn't quite cut it for me for live play. I've always liked Roland sounds, but I am not convinced that anything from their line is going to work any better for me. Still looking for an SD1 here to try out ( that requires a trip to NY city ) and a Technics ( God only knows where in NY ) as well.

Hi jedi i have read some of your posting before i had the psr 2000 i was concernt and i called yamaha in the Netherlands and ask them about the bugs they told me that after version 1.10 the bug was solfd.Because of a delivery problem i had to wait 6 weeks before yamaha delivered the keyboard to the store. The store loned me a demo psr 2000 i was checking the firmware and it was a 1.10
there was no loud his on the speakers and no blinking led's .After 2weeks my keyboard was in the store version 1.20 I discoverd until now no problems at all.The only thing i was asking of it was possible to save the channels when it is set, to off .I don't remember of it was possible on the 1.10 version.I can set the vollume down and save the song(mid)but the channel is on again after loading the song in.

Dnj:Thanks for the link for Shirley bassey this is my life it is the song i am looking for but it is in the US and i life in The Netherlands and i dont have a credit card. Thanks any way for the search.(the song is also named in spanish "la Dolce Vita",also by shirley bassey, perhaps somebody else could reconice this?)

Hallo bluezplayer i also sea your posting about the yamaha psr 2000 i hope that your board is ok now ,ask the dealer about the 1.20 version in The Netherlands it was schipped first of the week ,of this month.(march)All the stores were sold out so maby it is in by now.

Hi Bambino,
Welcome to the forum.
I wonder if you could test the vocal harmonizer to see if the problem still exists in versions 1.2?
When you select the harmony setting "Karaoke Girl" or "Speedy Mouse", and speak through the mic, ONLY the Girl or Mouse voice should be heard, NOT your original voice.
I hope you can find time to test them for me, as it is quite important to me.
Thanks,
DonM

Hi Donm I test the vocal harmonizer to see if the problem still exists and i selected the harmony setting Karaoke Girl and Speedy Mouse .By the karaoke Girl i hear my own voice to by Speedy mouse not.I think it is also importend wat mic is conecctet to the vocal harmonizer.I discoverd that it is also conectet with the left play of the keyboard then the voces changed. It is like a duet with a girl but the girls voice is louder then my one voice. I hope this information is helping. Wat other bugs where discoverd so i can test it.Greetings Roland

Thanks,
They still have not fixed the problem.
Another thing we were hoping for would be if the intro and/or ending selection could be saved to Registration Memory.

Hallo DonM
I have test the intro end ending settings and it seams that it does save correct to registration memory.
I explain wat i have done.
I selected ballroom tango 1 ,then I select intro then i saved pusht the memory button and then i. Then i selected a tango 2 and then i pusht the registration button 1 again and intro tango 1 all on.Also while i am playing and pushing the membory 1 button the intro begins to play again. The same with the ending function. Is that ok ? i hope so.

No, that's not what I'm referring to.
Each factory style has three intros and three endings. However, you must select which of those that you want to play when you push the intro or ending button.
The styles default to intro and ending number 3, so if you want an intro or ending other than number 3, you must select it manually from the screen.
I would like to be able to save this selection to registration memory. In other words, if I want to use intro 1 and ending 2 with the Samba style, I should be able to save the style, along with these preferences, to Registration Memory.
Thanks for all your help.

That's wonderful! Thanks for the info. Now if we can just get Yamaha to upgrade the older models.

O.K. Then they haven't changed that. Too bad. It is a real nuisance to have to pick the intro or ending you want to use every time you change styles.
Thanks anyway!

I am able to save the desired intro and ending to registration.

I am able to do this by:

Selecting the intro I want.
Press the intro button. While the intro button is still lit, save it to the registration memory (1-8).

Do the same for the ending, saving it while the ending button is still lit.

Save the registration bank, and it remembers the choice next time you select the button.

You must be careful when playing because if you choose the same buttons that you saved them to, it will automatically play them, when you may not want them.

I use the same proceedure for the fill ins. If you save to registration memory while the fill lite is flashing you will get the fill every time you select the memory button (1-8).

I found these to be useful, undocumented features.

There is a bug in the system. Altough the programmed intro and ending play, the screen shows the default settings for intro/ending. Not the ones that are actually playing.

Regards,

Jerry

Now that's interesting! I'll have to digest that and see if it is a feasible thing for me. You shouldn't HAVE to do it that way though.
