.... for a little while anyway ...
Monday at 5:45 AM I report to the hospital for total knee replacement ... the only drawback is NO beer for Super Sunday .. had the left one done 3 years ago, and now the right one has caught up ... 4 days in the hospital followed by 1 week in a re-hab center, so I will be 'out of touch' ...
If the doc is a real 'miracle worker' maybe I'll cut a few strokes off the handicap next year ... (not enough to play against DonM though ... I would need a total BODY transplant for that) ...

Be kind to each other while I'm gone ...

Good luck Tony! A good friend just had one done 3 weeks ago and he's doing real well. I'm probably looking at one of these a few years down the line. Look forward to having you back.

Make sure you tske your spoons to the hospital so you can practice!

A good friend of mine from Switzerland had a knee replacement early last year, and was climbing the Alps in less than three months. I visited him and hung around during and directly after the operation, and his recovery and lack of major discomfort was amaising.

If you can, email me your phone number and a time to call after the surgery...maby the next day, and I'll call and harass you!

All the best to you, and I sincerely hope everything goes well. My wife was supposed to have her knee replaced in November, but everything is on hold because the pre-operative evaluation revealed she had a silent heart attack sometime during the past year. Two days later she was in the hospital getting a stent placed in her left anterior decending coronary artery. Knee replacement will not take place now until August.
