Looks like a long-term relationship with the PSR403

Maybe they'll have a prototype in January to be shown at the NAMM show in LA but it still wouldn’t be shipping until next summer.

I can't wait that long. I have GAS. It will either be a Roland E50/60 or a PSR1500/PS3000.

There are strong indications that the new 3k will be 76-note.

Again, there are no guarentees that this is an absolute.

Maybe they'll make this 76 notes to see how well it takes off and if it does well the T2 replacement may be 76 notes too (or 61 if the new 3k model flops like the 9000pro).

As typical, rumored excitement abound, but Yamaha Japan has ALWAYS kept its lips tightly sealed about new model arrivals (even to country distributors & dealers) right down to the wire. As far as the PSR3000+ release date, history has shown it and earlier model (PSR2000) announced & released in summer (in contrast, both Tyros1 and Tyros2 were both released in the fall) so unless there is a sudden change of heart by Yamaha Japan this time around, my PSR3000 release date 'guess' remains summer 2007. As far as the 76 note vs 61 thing goes, it may be fun to speculate here, but the truth is, that ONLY a few top guys at Yamaha JAPAN 'really' know (and that decision may not even be made by them yet ) how many keys (76 or 61) the PSR3000's followup will include. Yamaha's proven rumors (scoops) false in the past, so choose not to speculate, but just wait and see what reality brings.

Maybe, this is an attempt to cool Roland sales of E50/60.

I think that the introduction of the 76 note E-60 is the reason why Yamaha would entertain the idea of a 3k with a larger keyboard.

Competition is usually a benefit to the users.

The release date is confirmed to be 2007 spring/summer.
