No problems at all with my second PSR S-900.
As George said, the first one was damaged in shipment and that's probably what was wrong with it.

Jedi, I've had my S900 for about three months now, and use it everyday at gigs. No problem so far. I've played at a couple jobs that were up to four hours without a hitch, so i would say that the keyboard is reliable. I also have a T2, and it's stayed at home since my S900 arrived. Hope this helps you decide. Good luck. Bob L.

Ian,
are you saying that your friend tried the PA-800 and finally went for the S-900?

I sold my PSR-3K and upgraded to the S900. I got a good one (no issues) and haven't looked back. It's the SA voices. The board is a joy to play. The 3000 was great, but with the upgraded sounds, this is indeed a nice step up.

The upgraded (SA) sounds.

Is that the only difference between an S900 and a 3000?

That's one of the main upgrades, Larry, plus the Audio to USB.

There are other smaller upgrades as well, such as the return of dedicated buttons for voice control(DSP Variation, Sustain, etc), more ROM styles(305 vs 240), better button layout...for example, the registrations are central located so you can get to them with either hand.

I thought the move up to the S900 was worth it just for the great SA voices alone, but I'm also really tickled with the Audio to USB as well.

Hey , hows the Cubase ! , I guess that promo is over .
But is the software any good and are you going for Cubase 4 ?

Take care,
Gary

Gary, the rubber buttons seem to be fine to me. I adjusted to them quickly.

As far as the Cubase goes, I haven't even taken a look at it yet, since I'm not really into computer-based recording. Maybe when I find time for the learning curve!

Best to you,
Tim
