Funny this comes up now. I played at a small honky tonk in a small town and used my z2200 Logitech. It was just kinda muddy sounding, not clear as usual and I had it maxed out! I've never had it maxed out. I suspected the power was dirty. They had several big fans running, including one industrial box fan three feet behind me. I got through it fine and got hired again but it wasn't ideal.

On this note I use a UPS now at home, I was hit by lightning July 4 through the cable tv line and lost 2 computers..well Best Buy replaced one and Apple fixed the other. I had the extended warranty.

Anyhow aren't there rack mount power conditioners available for musicians, I thought I saw some on Musicians friend. They don't have the battery backup but they say they keep the voltage constant from dips as well as spikes. They are more expensive than just the regular power strips but probably worth it.
Or am I mistaken?

I got a apc 500 that I havn't had hooked upped for 4 years, It never had to come on, is like new,(maybe connected for 2 months) don't know if the battery is still up, may or may not take a charge (auto build in charger) and might have to be replaced, but if you want it yell and I'll send it for all the favors you've done for me. have the manual, looks like it will run a tower and 15" monitor for about 20 minutes, should be as good for a keyboard (less the amps).....Pose

Edit:
also has a extra bypass plug in the back, think that will protect for surges etc, but dosn't back up a power outage.

Thanks everyone for your responses,

Gary:
You can buy direct from APC, but their resellers offer better prices. As I recall when working at APC we charged list price. Here's a link to resellers from their web site
