I am still looking for an MZ2000 manual...In the mean time, maybe another MZ owner can answer a few questions for me..

I ran across a few windows that showed this info, but don't recall how I got there...

I want to assign the expression pedal to individual real time parts...as upper 1..Currently the expression pedal is effecting all the real time parts, including my manual bass[lower part]...How can I defeat the lower part from expression?

I also ran across a portamento in a list, but can not find any parameters, or assignments. Where can this be found?

Where can I find the page to assign effects to the stereo inputs[or to remove the effects]....other than the mic/input effects?

Is there a parameter to turn a part[as a bass for example] to a mono sound? If so, where do I find it?

I would also like to assign the hold[sustain pedal] to selected real time parts[primarily upper 1 and 2], but not the lower tones...Can it be done? Where do I find the parameters?

I appreciate any help on these questions, it will save me time trying to find the parameters[if they exist]....Someone with an MZ2000 manual should be able to help me with the questions...Thanks

PS: I used the MZ2000 last night[on the job],I like that I can do it all with one package[mic/effects, sequence with lyrics, on board speakers and stereo inputs for a laptop......but overall the sounds and ease of play do not compare to my G1000..

The Casio MZ2000 will probably be used primarily as my small light setup board[this is how I intended to use it in the beginning]...The bigger, more important jobs, I need the Roland[G1000].

It looks like the VA-7[ only version 2] is still an alternative for me again....anyone interested in trading?

I miss mine too. I didn't think it was a very good arranger in and of itself, but it was the best Rompler ( sample ) based synth I've ever owned.

For those that may not understand why I would say that, it wasn't so much because of the acoustic instrument sounds, although there were a few that I liked a lot ( Organs, a couple of saxes, etc ). Many of the acoustic sounds were quite average to me.

I liked it because it had an almost analog feel / sound to it, yet it was sample based. The editing was excellent for a wave based synth, way more intuitive than on my Motif or my PA80.

AJ, I pretty much agree with your comments..

I believe if Casio wanted[they are in business to make the best return on R and D], they have the ability to more than compete with the Roland, Yamaha,, Korg , Gem, and Ketron guys..

I think the MZ 2000 is a perfect example[this was their initial "Pro" product in arranger/synth products]...A test on the market...that most associated with the lower line of Casio keyboards...The same story with the CZ series synths in the mid 80's..

Even in todays market the MZ beats the PSR3000, Korg PA50 , Roland EXR series..

Did you hear me..? Casio's 4/5 year old MZ2000 model more than competes with the current boards..

BTW: Try to find a used one...very hard to locate[somebody must know it is worth keeping]..

Feature wise, it has a lot ...

My WK3000 is now available[maybe the grandchildren would like the WK, but they are spread into 3 families, how do I work that out?.....I know, I can buy two more WK's]..
