the first is a style vault, that you just enter. For the second one you need to become a member. It is free. You'll find some good styles from the 9000 and the new CVP209 styles.
Thanks for posting this. I've downloaded the styles but get 'disk error' except on 2 or 3 so far. I have changed the disk drive on the PSR740 but am suspecting that perhaps the 2000 styles are too big for the 740? Has any one been successful on actually playing those styles in the 740? If so then I have some deffect in my unit?

Your PSR740 is just fine. However, the PSR740 comes with very shrimpy User memory space. If you only use space #161, then there is no problem loading any style from any keyboard. So leave spaces #162 & #163 alone and you'll be ok.
Yes, I have been loading it on 161 and so far only 2 styles have not given me the message. Were you able to load the 2000 styles successfully? Was anyone in the forum? Right now I've even put a new diskdrive but continue to get the same message. Perhaps only a few styles are compatible?

mbl, If you are trying to load in the 2000 styles that have an extention of .sst, you will not be able to load them. These are the new session styles and are not "bachward" compatible. These will not work on the 740 or the 9000 series. This might be your problem. George Kaye Kaye's Music Scene Reseda, California

Thank you much, George. That will settle my frustations and doubts.
All the styles that I downloaded end in .STY, nowhere do I see .STT, though. But I found some more that load and play and it is a matter of finding out.
The site where I got them may have changed all terminations to be even STY.
In which place are the files with the .STT as you describe?
Thanks every one. I have now been able to load ANY style from the PSR2000 that I have tried. The answer came from the PK forum. The same problem applies to prior versions of keyboards, including the 9000. I found styles from the 2000 are quite improved from the 740. Here is a copy of the PK message, for potential benefit to others with similar problem: ......................................... The problem is NOT the file size, but some additional OTS information in the end of the style file. This additional has to be removed.
This subject has been discussed in the psr-styles-group (link from my site, see below) lateley and I think some/most of the PSR 2000 styles have been modified for use in PSR 740 (and other models which don't accept this additional information).
If you cant find the modified styles, you can modify the styles your self this way: - Open the PSR 2000 style in an hexidecimal editor (freeware: WinHex, HexEdit etc.) - Search for "OTSc" - Delete from (AND including) the first occurence of "OTSc" to the end of the file. - Save
