Thanks for all your answer;
Dave and Scott,
what a bummer that Yamaha did not allow you to do this, I know you can do this with their Synth. I do like the sound and style of Tyros, I have it for 7 months now, but it's because some of little things here and there that keep me from using it for gig, I keep using SD1 for style and sounds and XP60 for alternate solo voice and string, just to keep things fresh ( at least, to me). But I feel more sastisfy playing piano, Rhodes, and organ sound with both hands on one keyboard. So thanks to Dave and Scott for your knowledge.

Squeaky,
yes I have XP60 it still works fine, I like the warmness of Roland Strings the most.

Fran,
thanks for your suggestion, the thought cross my mind, because Both G70 and PA1X Pro must be at least good keyboard. Again, I love Tyros sound and style, but I like my arranger to have seperate Fill and Variation buttons, and a reset button is a must, looks like PA1X pro have these functions, but thier price is so high, don't kow how to explain to my wife, so I just keep thinking about it then.

Dave,
I know, somehow, I just have a crazy Idea that I like to feel my left hand holding chords all the time, plus I feel more of a physical contact like when you bend the guitar string up as well, told you it was crazy. By the way I read all your post here, very informative, thanks!

One potential problem is that aftertouch is active across the entire keyboard, even if it is doing something to only one zone, so as you play perhaps a little heavier on the left hand, whether you like it or not, it's going to pitch up the right hand notes a little (or a lot!). I really like aftertouch for vibratos (especially if you can adjust rate as well as depth with aftertouch) but have never managed to successfully ACCURATELY bend solos with AT.

If you absolutely can't take your left hand off the keyboard to use the pitch lever, the footpedal is probably your best bet, BUT........... (and I don't know of anyone that makes one) you REALLY need to have it spring back to fully up when you take your foot off it, or your part(s) will end up out of tune!!

Anyone out there ever come across a spring loaded Controller pedal??

Dikki,
Not really, on both my one time Korg I3 and SD1, I split the keyboard for arranger chord on the left hand, and do after touch on the right, and it does not affect the chord part at all. But mainly I tend to use after touch on my non arranger more, and yes it's good for adding vibrato or even Wah wah as well, not so good on switching slow to fast leslie.

As I recall, you can turn the auto-fill function off on the Tyros. Then it doesn't automatically fill before changing variations, but it will still fill to self when pushing a variation button that is already active.

I just remembered, some of the new Sustain pedals (like Roland DP-8) have a Controller mode for half-pedal effects on pianos etc., but if you have a spare input and can route Foot Controller to Pitch UP, you now have a spring returned, foot operated Pitch Bend Lever............. YEAH!!

I agree with you there Tye. I particularly like to assign pitch bend to the keyboard when playing an Acoustic Bass sound; it really adds that little bit of extra realism.

Andrew, to me the note bending aftertouch fells more sastisfy, and you can program to have it bend up or down depends on the characteristic of the instrument that you try to immitate;
