Of Course!

The best program out there is Finale (whichever version, currently Finale 2004). It is a great program that I often use to write out music.

I hope you have deep pockets Grubba99 because Finaly (although undoubtedly the 'best' Notation software on the market); it is rather expensive software. If you are a Student there may be a Student discount for Finaly. A cheaper alternative is: "Noteworthy Composer". Here is the link: http://www.noteworthysoftware.com/

PS: You can even try the Demo version of Noteworthy Composer for 30 days. The Demo is basically fully functional with a few limitations.

Best regards,
Mike

I just got this program and it is excellent. You not only and see and hear everything you enter, but it shows notation with chords of any midfile or audio file you load into it.

I'm currently working on a fake book player (code name Busker). You can drag and drop all the symbols that you find in a fake book to staff lines including repeats and "dal segno al coda" stuff. It will be only for fake book songs, that is only the melody is put in notes and the accompaniment is specified in chord symbols. Like OMB it will play Yamaha styles, have auto harmony and be cheap. When playing it will show the lyrics (for karaoke) and show a keyboard display with the chord and melody keys to play (for keyboard training). Expected release in January or February.

Another program comparable to Finale is "SIBELIUS". In my case, I prefer Sibelius 2.0 to Finale.

Quoted from the NoteWorthy Composer Software site:

"It allows you to create, record, edit, print and 'play back' your own musical scores in pure music notation."

The answer is a resounding YES!

Best regards,
Mike

I found Noteworthy to be difficult to use. There is no way I could input two notes to play simultaneously. Yamaha XG works was even more difficult. I could not input 4 quarter notes. The last note would be tied to an eight note in the next measure. Arrr.
Has anyone used "Music Time Deluxe"?
