In the past I have had hundreds of black keyboards and modules...none were ever affected by the absorbed heat..

I prefer black or dark also, but I did have a problem one time at an outdoor gig in full sunlight. I was playing a Korg T3 synth (black), and by the middle of the first set, some of the plastic panels on top were warping from the heat. The synth never quit, but at the break I jury rigged a tarp to provide some shade.

Why would anyone hire a band to play at their house party on a summer day (90 degrees) and expect them to set up in direct sunlight, in the middle of the yard (no electric), and directly on the grass (no stage, no plywood)? These people spent way too much time makin jello shooters. <<<

UD,

I have started evaluating some of your points for feasability soon. Now, with the 61 weighted keys (fully weighted like Piano style, not semi weighted) and a good set of speakers like say at least 30W/channel (not those found in small boom boxes), your weight limitation of 30-40lbs seems hard to meet at this time.

Let me review the other points .... and see.

Thanks,

AJ

AJ,
Very few of us want weighted keys. They are fine for playing piano, but not for emulating instruments on a keyboard.
Thanks,
DonM

what most of us need is semi weighted keys like dgx 305 from yamaha.you can't sell a board with real fully weighted piano keys which are only 61and 22w output per side like pa 80 will be fine.I hope you can do that under 40 lbs.

my addidtions will be
also- keys (L and R )sides should be well protected from accidental damage.

at least 1 on board real time controller (slider like korg PA or ribbon)

1 sustain input+ 2 FS inputs

(breath controllet input -ha ha I think I'm wanting too much)

no big ugly model logo on rear, just the company name with decent moderate sized latters which look like their old hit models(ketron /yamaha etc)

well cut body with no wasted areas(eg like new roland exr series)

4 outs(sending click track to a live drummer is more and more becoming a major issue)

headphone out on your L hand side

1 mic and 1 instrument ins(both your vocal and acoustic guitar must be able to use simu internal efx)

76 keys is fine as long as it's light(why yam is making dgx for 12kg only?)

wheel or joystick is a hot issue so let's hear it guys.I 'm suremost mid east players will vote foe joy stick.what do you guys want.

price- 1500-1700$ max

When UD says weighted keys I think he is referring to keys as per PAX1.9000Pro. VA76. SD1 type. Good quality with a responsive feel.

Yes !!!!! I don't want piano style keys either. I want weighted, SNYTH keys.
Good, solid, hard plastic with weights underneath for stability. Like the ones on the PA1x or SD1.

Back to work AJ ! Keep it up, my friend !

Donny,
the last few we've had all have a dedicated volume knob for the mic! The 3k has 2 !

C'mon ..... that front panel rocker works as good as any knob can, and how often do you change the mic volume anyway?
The gain knob on the back SHOULD be hidden, because it's not intended for on the spot changes. You set it and forget it. Ooops sorry ..... fagettabouttit!
