Calm down ...... it's not what you think.
I decided last night, during the wedding I played for Fran's daughter Candie, that I am going to make an all out commitment to this psr3k.
I know it's shortcomings, I know it's strengths, and I know that NO one is making what I really want anytime soon, so I'm biting the bullit and bedding down with this puppy for a while. ( Would that be a ONE dog night??
)
What does this mean? Well, for starters, I will customize it, add personal styles, registrations etc. All things I rarely do because I switch kbs so often.
I will also be in the active market for a backup for my studio. I want to trade this G1000 for another 3k - anyone ???? I like working on stuff after work, but I hate to unload the car.
I am in the process of organizing, measuring and storing the wires for ez access and quick(er) setup. As soon as I finish ..... I'll post the pics of my new bride for all to see.
Yesterday - I set up outside to play the wedding ceremony ( psr speakers alone ).
Then I came in and set the 3k on top of a grand piano and played the cocktail hr on it ( 3k speakers alone again )
I had the Bose all set to go in the ball room, so after coctails - I set the 3k on the stand - plugged into the Bose and did the dinner/dance portion of the show.
I was about 50/50 live vs DJ at this wedding, which is typical when the bride and groom are under 30, and the 3k sounded wonderful at it's task. My setup for the rest of this year ( at least ) will now be:
psr3k (sequences play internally)
sony vaio (for MP3s, mostly)
Bose PAS (2 woofers)
Simple, effective, portable, versatile, and sonically AMAZING.
Pics will be along shortly.
BTW - it all packs up behind the rear seat in my Windstar and leaves seating for SEVEN. That's worth alot to me !
