AJ,
Your boys came close with the X1, but they skimped on the polyphony area. The notes would run out and the harmonizer would need to be retriggered.
Heres my demands:
1)speakers - not add on in any way-BUILT in
2)Yamaha style EQ and effects mixer
3)Digitech/TC style harmonizer(chordal mode from EITHER hand)
4)under 40lbs.....under 30 is better still
5)small footprint - 61 keys max
6)weighted, solid keys and FULL size.
7)seq and arr modes accessable at the same time. Yamaha has this now.
8)USB in and out and mass storage of some sort on board
9)GM sound map for panel voices
10)multi tasking during performance
11)stereo aux ins for audio player
12)logical button layout, ample footswith jacks
13)multipads like Yamahas(phrases)
14)BLACK housing - no more silver please
15)no glitches when switching parts on/off or turning arranger on/off during playback
** In short(?)this dream unit needs to be more of the SIMPLER features that we've grown up with over the years.
I need reliable drum patterns, solid LH bass sounds, arrangers that can be locked into the SAME drum and bass tones . Fill ins that sound like the same drummer played them. Normal, tight, unflashy, digital rhythm players that allow for self expression from the live artist playing along.
To makle it even simpler:
Keys and harmonizer from PA1x
Size, weight and layout from PSR3k
Power and speakers from kn6500
EQ, effects and rhythms from Yamaha series
Sounds from all the top of the lines
Pricing from Casio
Reliability foprm Roland
