Dave great review......

Have you considered the MP3 card or up to 1 Terabyte hard drive to install in the Pa800? Your setup really looks kool now for sure with the new Bose mini mixer....Another thing I like on the Pa800 is that you can see "on screen" what each STS sound is & each Pad in live play with the choice of access them with a button or the touch screen instead of "guessing". Also all the in/outs/midi etc are all clustered on the left side so that when using an Apex stand the center pole doesn't interfere with the cables & plugs.
See Ya Maiden Voyage tonight or Tomorrow!

Having recently bought a PA1X Pro elite myself, I was wondering when someone was going to say that!

I absolutely MUST say, the PA1X key-bed is, quite frankly, (for me) FANTASTIC.

Hi,
have a question on PA800 Multipads.
I really luved the multipads on my KN7000.
No matter when I hit them, they would sync immediately to the style whether they were hit halfway thru a bar or whatever. I get the impression that if a pad was hit in the middle of a bar, the pad also started from the middle , very smooth. Not sure that it's actually the case, but it felt that way.

I was a bit dissapointed to find that the multipads on my psr1500 didn't quite do the same thing. They seem to play catch up if hit at the wrong time & sometimes I even get a blank bar.( Maybe I've got some sort a setting wrong).

Anyway question is how do the pa800 multipads perform, do they play catchup like my psr's, or do they perform more like the kn's.

Hope I'm making some sense.

Reason I'm asking is I'm planning on getting a new keyboard, haven't quite decided what as yet. Possibly looking at replacing the psr 1500 with the psrS900, or maybe buying a PA800 depending on the pads.

I used to use the multipads extensively on the kn by using a pad to replace one of the style parts & therefore create a new style ( of sorts).
Can't safely do this with my psr because of syncing hassles.

best wishes
Rikki

Hi,
I think I just found my answer to the above question in the PA800 manual.
Page 142 Pad Sync
Awesome.
The pad recording / editing functions are amazing in this machine. Everything from copying tracks from styles to pads to importing tracks from midifiles to pads.

Still luv to know if they work as smoothly as it sounds.

Rikki....they work & sync with no problem....they are very useful well recorded & thought out for use with styles etc ....also you can mix, match, edit & save them in any combination you like within a style with ease, awesome addition to beef up the overall style sound or maybe just use one for intro/ending/solos, etc etc ...

I think you have the option of having the pads start imediately or at the start of the next mneasure. I'm not SURE of that...I'll try to check as soon as I get my hands on it again. We start play rehearsals tomorrow after school, so I shift my priorites to the Drama .. ( on and OFF stage ! )
Friday night is the only chance I get to take the 800 out of the case. Last Friday, I had a super night, and the comfort zone is definately here !
Donny will keep you all posted about new stuff he learns as we get comfy with this unit.
Be well, all ....... tyhe next 2 months is all Drama for me! I have 2 months to get the kids ready to bring "The Diary OF Anne Frank" to life on stage. Wish us luck !

Eons ago when I did gigs in the park from 9am to noon the sun was in my face. I had one of those EZ up tent ma jiggies positioned to shade the keyboard and me. I still had trouble seeing my touch screen.

What really helped but didn't create a miracle is, I cut a piece of thin cardboard painted it black and put two strips of Velcro on each side of the touch screen and fitted the card board to keep the sun out. I put it flat to the back and had it folded to be higher in the front for reading. Like I said. It's no miracle fix but helps me to get by. Laptop screens are hard in the daylight too. I adjusted my arrow cursor to have a long tail trailing behind it and that helps also.

Hi Donny,
that's great news. I think it's been at least 12 years since I last owned a korg.
I originally had the i2. The operating system has come a long way since then, I can't even remember it having pads??

I used to luv creating pads for the kn7.

Sounds like a PA would work well with my theory of building up a library for style & pad phrases.

Now all I have to do is try & audition one.

thanks Donny & Uncle Dave
