Hey maybe it's just me, but gushing over the fact that a nearly 3000.00 keyboard has a MP3 player simply strains ones credibility as an evaluator of new keyboard technology. I can buy a MP3 player at Walmart for 19.95 (and get a corn dog and a NASCAR update on the side). I try not to knock it, but as a musician, I still have a hard time with the concept of standing in front of a crowd playing an MP3 recording. That would imply that the crowd just came to hear your singing and from what I've heard, that ain't much incentive for showing up. In the first place, the PA800 is essentially a scaled down PA1x (with a scant few, largely negligible, updates). This board has been around in at least one of it's iterations for at least 3-4 years, so it's hardly a new board that's never been evaluated before. Before it's recent "emergence", it received hardly a blip on this board. Does that mean that it's value is strictly a function of which revered member suddenly "discovered" it and proclaimed it the latest, greatest? If you're one of the ones who can't wait for Roland to roll out a new $4500.00 arranger keyboard because it MIGHT have a MP3 player, then I say, get out of the music business and go get a job at Circuit City or Best Buy. chas
