Just got a copy of DNJs CD "Swinging with the Big Bands"

All I can say is " Superb!!" He's done a great job on the CD with all. There are several standouts including " For Once in My Life " done ala style of " Michel Buble. "

Not sure which tune I like the best but so far my favorites are "Rock a bye Baby," Taking a Chance on Love," and Quando, Quando Quando. Both he and his daughter Mandy do a great job on that tune. Looks like she'll have a very successful singing career as well.

Donny, I like the sound of the Midjay, you have command of the Midjay for sure. Are all the styles you use played as is from the Midjay or did you enhance them in anyway? From what I've heard so far there's some real fantastic sounding percussion in the Midjay styles.

thanx so much for the listen......I tried to stay in the Big band theme on this project & show my friends that the Ketron Midjay is a wonderful piece of equipment that is so multifaceted for many purposes.....I love it!
I used a Midjay module, Roland A37, Shure SM58 mic, & some PC editing softare to Master it. Its all in the mixing, editing, tweaking to get the sound YOU want. I had a ball recording it ......my daughter 22 is really a seasoned Hip Hop recording artist but took the time to help Daddy on
Quando Quando with excellent female vocals.
I just wanted to record some tunes my friends here could enjoy.

Yesterday I listened tot he entire album while I ran a slide show of all the photos on my computer. The timing worked out just about right. Seventeen songs, and all a pleasure to hear.
Regarding styles, I didn't recognize much that sounded like Midjay styles, so I assume most of the songs were done with midi files created or edited by DNJ. Right?

Don......on this project I used smf files combined with live playing Midjay sounds to beef up the songs in certain parts with strings, brass, clarinet, piano, & more etc, etc,.....
Big Band arrangements are complex & to avoid the repetitiveness of just a arranger styles I prefered to do it this way .....
I intend to do a Totaly Live CD project 50's/60's style on my next project using only Live style playing & Vocals on the Midjay in the future.
