Yes, you are right about that. The KN7000 is very ugly. To my eye the KN6000 was the most beautiful keyboard at the time, but I wonder why Technics has made the KN7000 so ugly.

I'm right there with both of you.. The KN-7000 is one unattractive little lady. What was Technics thinking when they designed the body to this thing????? It's like they took a step backwards (like 10 years) with the body molding. Yamaha did this a long time ago with a PSR board, and it hasn't been duplicated until now.. To me it looks very dated.. I personally thought the design of the 6000/6500 was beautiful.. It had great curves

...... a hell of a lot of VW Beetles have been sold... .... besides, I have seen a number of posts complimenting the look of the kn7 .... and we ALL know, beauty is in the eyes of the beholder ... AND, only skin deep, ... in kb's it's what's UNDER the skin that matters.....

Regarding the KN7k, the "Sunken" keyboard bed is what I wasn't comfortable with when I played one. It sounded fine with a great speaker system.

The KN7000's innovative design may be subject to artistic taste, but I feel its quality craftsmanship, solid contruction, and 'attention to detail' surpass any arranger KB out there. It's also important to note that electronics (and cars) manufactered 'in Japan' continue to hold the lead worldwide for both quality (worksmanship) & reliability.

Ok, I forgot to mention, I think the KN7000 sounds and plays GREAT ! My only 2 beefs about it are . . . well, you already know . . .

They have a great following with that line. Techies keep buying Tech products. Great loyalty.

I have the KN7000 and I love the looks. I find it much easier to see things with the slant on the flip top. I had the KN6000 before.

I guess I never noticed the sunken key bed. Works for me!

I also have a Roland Va7. I find the sounds superior on the KN. I do like Roland styles, but that's a toss up on which I like better.
As to operating system, there is not a contest. The VA7 is a pain to use! I've had a lot of Roland keyboards......they used to put buttons on them. They took most of the buttons off them and called that "a user friendly feature"? I find it very annoying to have to go through several pages to do the simplest task. The KN7000 is so easy to use.

To Quote Uncle Dave, “Techies keep buying Tech products”.

Yammies keep buying yummy yammies.
Rolies keep buying rollaids.
Then their are some who just keep buying.
And so it goes.

What do Democrats have in common with keyboard manufactures? They keep taking our money.

Why do I think this way?
