I saw that guy on a show recently and he did a song and dance routine. Oh, my. IMO, It's time for him to hang it up. Yuck.

He's timeless & will go down as a LEGEND in Music History, no doubt one of the greatest Song Writers of our time..

"You deserve a break today, at McDonald's"
One of his hits!!
Donny, you sing better than he does! But I haven't seen you dance.

The guy's a geek, but there's no doubt he's got talent, charisma and chops.

Not my preference but I've got to give it to him....he also had some serious hip surgery recently, so I'd give him a little time to heal and cut him some slack for now.

By the way, your email link doesn't seem to work.

Barry always reminded me of "Horshack" on Welcome back Cotter show..or was it the other way around..Horshack reminds me of Barry..

OK now...let me get this straight..all of us "old" guys are still plugging away, but Bill thinks Barry should hang it up

As Donny has said, he is one of the best modern day writers..I put him up there with the greats of the 30's and 40's.[you remember them ]..

Hang it up , when he sells out every show he does

Barry, is not a great singer, but with his showmanship, there are a lot of us that can learn something from him..

He is also one of the best piano players around..

Final words.. "When October Comes"...if that doesn't do it for you...maybe you should hang it up!!!

Don...man, I AGREE! I imagine he and Bette Midler made a unique pair when they worked the New York bath houses years ago.

Good to visit on-line this afternoon!

Yep, he is very talented, no doubt. Quite a legacy he'll leave. When I saw him recently, his dancing around looked goofy and his singing was not strong at all. Maybe he had a bad day. Whatever, not my style. Not that he cares what I think, haha.

I love that song....and how about "One Voice" Man .... the harmonies !

Personally, the 50s CD left me wanting more, and I doubt that I'll love the 60s one, but gimmie his 70s any day !
"The old songs", "Mandy" ....... good stuff.
And, I'm sure you all know - he DIDN'T write "I write the songs".
Funny, huh?

In the early '80's we called him Barely ManEnough. Who had the last laugh? Twenty-five years later and his success has outlasted us all.

He also didn't write "I deserve a break today".
A girl by the name of Ginny Reddington did.

During his last road tour, best seats went for $1,400 a pop and he packed every show. Not too shabby. Tickets for his Vegas show are about $300. You would think that you could catch a 'red eye' round tripper, see the show and save about $800.
Ciao,
Jerry

As a kid in high school in the late 70's...The guys I enjoyed the most were Manilow, Elton John and Billy Joel...

Not easy in a school where Blue Oyster Cult and Molly Hatchet were the favorites...

All three of those guys are, IMO, living legends...pure and simple.
