Hi for anyone interested I finished my latest cd "RoMo"

It has 9 Fantom cuts (1-9) and 3 cuts from my new MoEs10-12 .....hence, "RoMo" On the 3 Mo cuts, one can get a good taste of the megas, both arppegiated and played realtime, especially on cut 12, "Summer Rain"

If you drop by enjoy, if you care to comment, that's cool too.

Terry,
I especially like the sounds of the MoEs,
the stereo image is the best yet, very progressive and stunning to listen to. The voices are full and rich...and I'm getting excited again. Hope you are enjoying the board and look forward to hearing more from you and it!

Summer Rain is a nice piece Terry. I do, detect a bit of distortion .. in the recording to mp3 itself maybe ( or maybe these crummy speakers I'm using right now..lol ) ?

I also like " Lost " and "Crash and Burn" very much.
The Motif ES sounds are awesome though. I think you made a good choice. The Fantom sounds good.. don't get me wrong, but just not as good to me as the Motif.
It's too bad.. 'cause the fantom has some really cool features and if the sounds were similar to the Motif I think the OS and features would have me favoring the Fantom.
I can hear a distinct difference though between the two on your work .

There were some sounds on the Fantom that I thought were very good, even excellent when I played it. Just not enough to satisfy me.

It's that same old paradox.. kinda like when I had the Casio MZ2000 and the Yamaha PSR740. The MZ had a wealth of useful features, a great OS to navigate, useful sliders.. and good synth editing to boot. It also had some very inspiring lead / distorted guitar sounds and absolutely the best kb sax I'd ever heard before I picked up the VL150 board for my Motif. Unfortunately, some of the bread and butter sounds ( drums / bass / pianos ) and a lot iof the styles just weren't very good..

In spite of that I think I'd buy it again if I could find one for real cheap. It makes a good midi controller ( excellent key feel for an arranger ) , and has good synth sounds and editng features. I just wouldn't use the styles or drum / bass sounds. Maybe I'd integrate it with my PSR2k and just use it as a controller and for a few of the really good sounds it has.

Aj,
I totally agree with you I think the Mo voices outshine the Fantom's by quite a distance they have a presence that are missing on the Fantom and definately are more realistic. L ike the ES very much and now that I can function with the pattern sequencer, I'm a happy camper.

Count on trading your original Mo in on this, because you are going to jam on it.
