Thanks for the advice. After further research I'm leaning toward spending a bit more and getting a Behringer UB1222FX-PRO. It's under $180 and will cover future expansion. I want to feed my Tyros and new Nord Electro 2 through the mixer to my twin Behringer KX1200s. The guitar player has a Fender Cyber head amp that has L and R XLR line outs (that I think are not amped), so I'm hoping he can use them to send the FX signal his amp creates to the mixer.

I don't know if this will work well, but it looks like it will be fun to experiment.

I had thought of getting a powered mixer, but have read of problems with them, specifically Behringer. It seems smarter to let the mixer just do its thing and send the signal to powered amps.

Now to get decent XLR female to TRS male cords . . . .

I have a 1222FX Pro and have been very happy with it. I also have a 1202FX Pro. Both have been excellent with no problems.

In my store I sell both the MG series of Yamaha and the Behringer UB mixers. I sell about 30 to 1 Behringer models because there are so many more models and because the prices are much lower than comparable Yamaha MG models and I can state that I have no more repair problems with the Behringer models. Both brands are made in China.

I have three Behringer mixers (UB502, UB802, UB2222FX) and all of them work flawlessly. I'm convinced that they aren't of inferior quality to Yamaha's, for example. I had another one in the past, the UB1204FX (one I bought from www.musik-service.de with whom I had a bad purchase experience). When I took the mixer out of the box, I noticed that it had a little problem in the power supply (in the switch). A problem of quality control, for sure. If it had been purchased in Portugal I think it would been changed for a new unit, but the people at www.musik-service.de simply ignored all my e-mails... I easily solved the problem locally with an additional 20 euros, but decided it would be the last time that I would purchase something from www.musik-service.de.

Mackie, Behringer, Yamaha, they are all made in China, these days.

Maby I'm not understanding this application. Will you be running the Tyros directly into a non powered mixer and then to your speakers? I wouldn't think that the Tyros would have enough power to drive the speakers without an external power source. I would think that you may have an impedance problem if you come from an external speaker jack on the guitar amp, throught the mixer and then to the speakers. If you come out of the line out of the guitar amp, you would also need an external power source.
