I have a Casio WK-3100 which works fine. I purchased an M-Audio Keystation 49e midi controller to use as a second keyboard to play tones on the other WK-3100 channels. This actually works well with one exception. Sometimes when playing a note or chord on the M-Audion 49e, the note starts properly, but stop sounding within a second or two, even though I am still holding down the keys. The only connection is the M-Audion midi out to the WK-3100 midi in. Any ideas how to fix this???

If this happens when playing or running a sequence on the WK-3100 while playing the 49e, you may be running out of polyphony. How many simultaneous notes are you playing?

I'd suggest checking whether the problem occurs if you play just the 49e; if not, the cause is likely exceeded polyphony.

If the notes still cut out using only the 49e, you might want to see what MIDI messages it sends when a key is held down. That can be done with a MIDI monitor.

Actually the problem occurs whether I play any notes on the Casio or not. If there is nothing else playing at all, and I play on the 49e, sometimes notes still drop off. I will look at the data to see what I can determine!

John, apparently there is a problem with some M-Audio controllers. I found this on the Motifator site: http://www.motifator.com/forums/showflat.php?Cat=1,2,4&Board=MotifRack&Number=171779&page=0&view=collapsed&sb=5&o=&fpart=1
It seems like you might want to contact the manufacturer.
