Last night was our last performance for at least 3 months..This came as a major surprise...Stu, our lead vocalist has had a problem with a sore in his mouth for ten months, and no one seemed to find out why..His last stint was a pain manangement doctor.. Stu tried one more professional, and it was determined he has throat cancer...He will be operated on Dec 23rd...

We are booked solid as a trio, but we had to cancel all of our dates, including New Years eve..

Hopefully Stu does well with his recovery, and our band can stay[get back] together after March....

This changes all my plans for winter..Now I have to talk UD into helping me in the COLD this winter[window business]..Just when I was going to take it easy thru the winter and just play music...I gotta go out in the cold...

Fran,

Really sorry to hear about your lead singer. Unfortunately, throat cancer is commonplace among singers, particularly male singers. Lots of famous vocalists were stricken with this dreaded disease. I had laryngeal polyps removed several years ago and get a check-up every six months for recurrance. It's a frightening experience every time I get a sore throat.

Good Luck,

Gary

My prayers are for your singer Fran. I hope they caught it at the beginning, so it will react well in the surgery/therapy. I wish him a good and fast recovery.

Gary, I had a vocal cord polyps removed in 1998 and just three weeks ago I sneezed and another one got torn off and popped out of my mouth.

The doctors actually laughed, saying "you seem alright after the self-performed surgery, and saved yourself the hassle"

The problem is I AM NOT A SINGER. I am just a salesperson.

Fran... Sorry to hear about that. Maybe I'm not familiar with your act, but you're a singer, right? Can't you perform with you and the two girls? It's a shame to lose all those engagements. Best wishes for Stu's recovery.

Glenn

I must have done something wrong...
I am getting to feel like Job in the Bible[Old Testament]..

It is bad enough that we lost our next 3 months of music bookings because of Stu's illness....another has arised..While working in the window business;after UD left for the day...I felt a discomfort in my eye...after trying to sleep it out overnite[I didn't sleep at all]..I went to my family doctor in the morning, and he found that I had a piece of steel embedded in my cornia...He quickly made an appointment with an eye surgeon, and an hour later he was doing a procedure....while anyway to shorten this story...I had to cancel my jobs for the next couple weeks, while I continue treatment with the eye guys...

I do notice that ALL the girls look beautiful with my blurred vision..

Dave they should have ordered the Z-bars..

Fran, by coincidence, Hank The Lurker got a small piece of metal in his eye recently. He tried to get it out, not knowing what it was, and made it worse. Finally had to get the doctor to remove it.
If you would just stick to music this sort of thing wouldn't happen!
Get well soon!

You mean one of them horse-like creatures with stripes?
Are they white with black stripes, or black with white stripes? Are they related to skunks?

Fran,
I owe you an extra apology. You have to be tough doing any outside construction. Even installing fibre-glas insulation in the winter. Except for maybe 2 to 2 1/2 years I've laid brick since 1964.

I worked in brick helping my grandfather in the summers since the 6th grade. I feel for anyone who has to get out in the morning at 7:00AM and face the bitter cold.

It would take several hours sometimes to nail up plastic around the soffit and get a propane heater going before I got one brick layed some days.

Hang in there Fran. Why don't you get UD a blonde wig and let him do some of those gigs with you.
