This is one of those proud dad moments. My 14 year old son auditioned a few weeks ago for the Ravens Marching Band and he made it. His first game is this afternoon and we will be there the cheer him on! BTW he plays tenor sax. Can't wait to get him on the bandstand.

Ciao,

Joe

Joe !!!!! arching band was one of my MOST FAVORITE times of my life. I landed a career, met my wife, and had more fun that I ever expected! They even PAID us to march at Temple, and we got credit for it too. Good luck Ravens !

Well?, how did it go???

When I was in the Army (maaaaaany moons ago ), I had a CO in Basic Training who was a grad of the Cornell Marching Band ... he saw in my file that I play a kb (accordion at that time) and 'volunteered' me to play glockenspiel in a marching band he was organizing ... The first week we had 6 guys ... by the third week we had 16 !!! ... a number of the guys were jazz fans, and along with the traditional Marches, our company's marching theme was "Jumpin with Symphony Sid" ... marching band was a BLAST and saved me from a lot of KP and guard duty ...

Thanks for the kind words guys. It went great. It was a beautiful day, he did a great job and we won the game. It doesn't get much better than that.

OK Joe, did the Ravens win yesterday? Either way, you're certainly a winningly proud dad, with a musically talented son to follow in your footsteps. Congratulations.

Scott,

They won! It was a squeaker that went right down to the wire, but Ray Lewis saved the day with an interception.

Cheers.

It was a great game. We were sitting in the endzone where Todd Heap caught the touchdown pass. It happened right in front of us, it was great! The whole game experience complete with the band is something I'll never ever forget. Life has those magic moments.

Wow Joe! definitely one of those lifetme events you'll be reminiscing about with your son for many years to come. Hope you got some good pics of both your son playing in the band as well as that winning TD pass. - Scott
