Things that make you go hmmmmmmm?
My new 2000 replacement is STLL the old version 1.03, and yet - it does NOT have the many bugs and quirks that my first unit had.
Things that SHOULD be remembered:
1)split point
2)choice of vocal harmony
3)DSP effects & levels
4)harmony trigger section (eg: LEFT / CHORD)
5)sustain settings for left&right hand parts

These things did not work on the first one, but DO work on the replecement. I wonder what the new O/S will bring to the table?

One of the most important things to me would be remembering the intro/ending preferences in registration memory. Scott says his will do that, but mine definitely will not.
It is a nuisance to have to manually select the intro and/or ending every time you change styles. The alternative is to save the style to disk with the proper selections made.

Even saving selected intro/endings to disc is apparently somewhat limited. For instance, say you want to create two Registrations for two songs using the same style, but different intros and endings for each. No Can Do. At least I haven't been able to. Whatever intro/ending you save for the first song will forever be the default on any song using that particular style.

Maybe saving the two songs to different discs would be the solution...but changing discs or punching in intro/endings takes about the same time.

My 2000's ROM version is Main Boot: 1.03
& Main Proram: 1.00 (same as yours?), but my KB allows me to save any specified Intro/Ending to Registration Memory. In fact, I can save Intro1 to RegBut 1, Intro2 to RegBut 2, etc. This allows me to use different Intros as breaks during the middle of a song.

This is obviously pointing out (as per Uncle Dave's observations as well) that even though we may have the SAME OS version displayed on our KBs, that we actually each have varying degrees of feature enhancements added/missing from our specific boards. Strange.

My PSR2000's Registration Memory, though it stores the Vocal Harmonizer on/off status and vocal harmony type selection, does NOT store the Mic settings.

Scott, I'm not talking about storing the intro or ending itself. I want the registration to call up, in most cases, intro/ending number 1 to work when I press the intro or ending key, without having to go to the diplay to select it each time.
Are you able to do this? If so, maybe there is hope!
My mic settings are not stored either, just the effects and harmony settings, as your does. Actually, I like it that way.
Unfortunately, the "fix" that Yamaha sent for the Vocal Harmony (mouse and k. girl) settings is unusable, because, while you can store the edited harmony setting, you can't store the mic setting to match it, so, whether they will admit it or not, the vocal harmony bug exists, and they haven't found a workable work-around for it yet.

I actully PREFER it this way too , because I frequently need to tweek mic EQ settings on the fly (to meet varying stage venue situations). If the actual mic EQ settings were saved in Registration Memory, it would NOT be realisticly possible to tweek/change mic EQ levels while performing as it would automatically revert back what is saved in Reg Memory settings the minute another registration memory button was selected.

It might be nice if Yamaha could create a new Registration Memory Contents category specificly for saving Mic EQ & efx settings though. This way you could optionally save the Mic/efx settings and then freeze (override) just these settings if you like.

Not being able to save the mic setting is no big deal to me. And, yes, I have the same OS as you. But, are you saying there is a way to save the intro/ending of your choice to each registration you create? I have not been able to uncover that secret.

I am unclear on Don's question. Don, are you wanting to save an intro/ending to your styles internally... or on disc?

hallo Donm and all forum members.
I readed the postings about the intro and ending settings and it is possible to save intro 1 to mem 1 intro 2 to mem 2 ect and same with the ending. You must save the intro 1 2 or 3 in any registermem and then do the same with the ending it is not possible to save intro and ending in 1 registermemory you have to use 2 registers to store the intro and the ending settings this way you can make a combination of it .

I can save speedy mouse settings with the mic settings to the user setting. I changed the settings like yamaha told us and then save it. I turned the board of and then on and loaded speedy mouse from the user mem and all setting are ok now. Greettings Roland From holland psr 2000 ver.1.20

Saving different intros to any given style in different 'Registration Memory' buttons is NOT a problem for me whatsoever.

If you also want the specific intro to begin when the associated Reg Memory button is pressed you must not only select the appropriate intro/ending in the LCD screen, but also activate the intro button (red light on) while saving (pressing the Memory button & a 1-8 Reg Memory button).

Also (before saving), be sure that the Memory Contents 'style' parameter is checked as well. Also double check that the freeze button is OFF. If you are still having problems, let me know and I can send you a Registration file which has different intro/ending settings saved in different individual reg memorys 1-8. Good luck. - Scott

I have a 1.0 version as my store demo and I want to make sure I understand you.
I have edited my speedy mouse and bass (low bass voice) and adjusted the balance as described in the Yamaha directions you posted and then saved these at different registration memories and when I recall them, they work perfectly. The balance and the user vocal memories are recalled with the push of one button. Is this what you can't do?
I've read so many different posts about what works and doesn't that I've become confused.
