The bottom line is that 99.9% of the folks on the dance floor cannot hear all of those wonderful features that you paid so dearly for. All they want is to be entertained, and if you can keep the dance floor filled with people that are having a grea time, and they like what they're hearing, the polyphony, aftertouch sensitivity, faster CPU's, video output, Harddisk interface with fast USB connectivity, upgradeable OS and all those other features are IMHO just window dressing.
If you're an entertainer, and can get two years of use out of your keyboard, you've made it pay for itself and can now think about buying a new one. Two years from now, Yamaha will likely be coming out with a PSR-2300 or 2400 that will have all the features found in today's Tyros. Today's Tyros will, by that time, be replaced with a new and exciting board that will sell for a couple hundred bucks more and have a larger everthing. Who knows, they may even come out with a board that uses Super Twist LCD technology so you can see the damned screen in sunlight. NAH!
