Guy is coming today to buy my VA-7.

Do I ... go Tyros
Do I ... go Genesys

probably I should wait till they are released...

Or maybe buy a Canon G3

Maybe pay a mortgage bill?

I got it, I'm casino bound

Frank, you've changed so much, I don't remember what you have left!
I would try a Ketron, if you don't have one already. I think they just sound better than the rest. But that's a personal opinion, and as you know I'm still playing Yamahas so far.

I have the mighty SD-1, and love it. Still have so much to learn on how to use it to its fullest.

Looking for something to give it a complement and as a back-up.

thanks

Take a long hard look at those notes in your hands, and I mean the paper ones! Now decide!

It depends entirely what you enjoy doing the most... and we all need something to relax, enjoy and comfort ourselves with. For me, I have realised a keyboard is essential, having now been without my 9000 for the past month I'm going crazy!

The Ketrons sound very good, we dont get to see them much here in the UK but the nicest thing about selling your board is having the cash in your pocket and going to look at all these keyboards. Its much easier to make a critical decision if you know that you can be choosey!

Tell you what, how abouts a Casio VL-1, Stylophone and I'll throw in a DR-55 drum machine for free?

:-)

How about a couple of 22-year old shapely female back up singers? I think this is what Fran uses.

I played the PSR8000 about 2 years ago and I really liked the polished studio type sounds. The interface seemed very smooth. So I am leaning toward the Tyros, I wish it came in a 9000pro format.

As for the Genesys, I have played the WK8 for a couple of days and it kind has the same vibe as a X1. A little bit of a more raw sound, with a little more harder to use operating system.

I don't want to have a copy of an SD-1, but I also don't want something that is not par on with it either. I need this other board to be able to step in for the SD-1 in case of emergency or replacement.

So I need everyone to make my decisions so I can blame you guys instead of me

ha ha

The Genesys is available now. I've been selling them for two months. It's sounds and styles are top notch and it is loaded with more features than any other keyboard. Comparing the Tyros and Genesys becomes a personal choice. The look of the Tyros is more simple looking with large buttons and lights and the Genesys is more ultra modern looking. However, both are very easy to use and the edge would go to the Genesys if you need features like CD playing, the ability to make a CD right in the keyboard, hard disk recording, sampling, built in hard drive included, mp3 song playback. Tyros will be out soon here in the US and then we will see which keyboard is right for each player. Both are now available in Europe and it seems that those who own the Genesys are extrememly satisfied and so are the Tyros owners. These are two great choices to look into.

George,

Will Genesys or Tyros come out with a 76 note version?

Or will Genesys have one with out speakers?

And do you know of anyplace near or in CT that has the Genesys? So I could play it

Well Frank, if you liked the 8000, I have one I'll sell you. Seriously, it is STILL a great keyboard. I use it occasionally, like when I need two setups in different places, or when I need the KARAOKE GIRL and SPEEDY MOUSE TO WORK RIGHT.

Genesys will have a 61 note without speakers coming out soon and there is a possibility that there will be an 88 key as well in the near future.
