We're going to South Texas to see my mother. It's about a 14-hour drive. Be back Wednesday.
Ya'll play nice while I'm gone.

Have fun and don't forget to write.

PS: If you're gonna be in Houston Don don't forget to take your wading boots. In fact you may have to dump the car and rent a boat to navigate some of those freeways. At least that's how it was a few days ago there. Maybe the waters have receded somewhat since last weekends deluge.

Hopefully this is all mute and your Mom doesn't live in Houston.

Best regards,
Mike

Does your Mom by any chance live near South Padre Island? If so, hope you get a chance to enjoy the beach activities there. Wow, It's a balmy 82 F there today (Sunday).

Just got back after driving 11 hours. Houston is dry now. We were very near Padre Island, but didn't go there as there was a cool snap that came through Sunday night. The temperature dropped to 54, but was back up to around 80 by today.
We spent half a day in Progreso, Mexico and had a good time there. There must be 100 dentists and even more pharmacies there, catering to the "winter Texans". You can get a tooth pulled for $10., or a complete plate for $100. Haircuts are $2.50.
It's good to be back. Time for some rest.

Ya' hear?

I'm happy Yawl had a safe trip Don. Wow! South Padre Island? I'm sure you were happy as a gopher in soft dirt down there. Must of been beautiful! With your visit to Progreso the Dentists would of come in as handy as hip pockets on a hog. If you needed any teeth work I hope you were fixin' ta get it done there. I hope you got to say your howdy do's to all your kin folk while you were there too. Did ya' git to visit Brownsville or over yonder at Matamoros? I hear the people are friendly as pups over that a ways. Texans really are a bunch of GOOD OL’ BOYS AND GALS. In fact as the saying goes: "Never ask a man if he's from Texas. If he is, he'll tell you on his own. If he ain't, no need to embarrass him." So I hope you didn't slip up any during your visit to God's Country.

And many of those Texas gals are cute as possum's.

PS: You're happily married Don so keep those eyes lookin' straight ahead; - but facts are facts. Also it's good to see Houston recovered from that real gully-washer they had less than 2 weeks ago.

Some people can't seem to cozy up to our neighbor to the south but they can say and think whatever they want but as the old Texas adage goes: - You can put your boots in the oven, but that don't make 'em biscuits. Still, yawl are probably as happy as a hog in slops to be home.

Get some zzzzzzzz's Don. Will hear from you soon enough. Glad you had a good time.

Best regards,
Mike
