Are you serious? The Tyros HP jack is MONO? That doesn't sound like Yamaha. They'd want the fullest sound to come through the headphones, I'd think!
Hmmmmmmm are you SURE?

The last time I checked the headphones on all Yamaha PSR and Tyros series keyboards was stereo--not mono.

I would also think they would me in stereo. I got this idea from some other people on a forum saying that it was mono. I am not sure, it was over a year ago that I checked it out and at the time I was mostly interested in how the sub sounded coming out of the headphone jack. It did sound better if I used an adaptor with a mini female in stereo to a 1/4" male in mono.

It actually would make no sense of the headphone jack was in mono. I then presume that I read incorrect info.

I no longer have the Tyros 1 to check so maybe someone that does could verify this.

However, I do remember trying the sub going straight into the keyboard and also using a Behringer UB802 mixer. There was definitely a difference between the two with going directly into the keyboard sounding better.

Best
Scott

Hi Beakybird

I know you've been busy with gigs etc, am wondering if you've received the z5500 yet and what your thoughts are on it.

Scott,

I checked the schematic for the headphone board on the T1 and it's definitely stereo--not mono. Same holds true for the entire PSR series and T2 as well.

Hi Gary

As Jimi Hendrix sang in one of his songs, "Now, you just can't believe everything you read, now can you?"

I have had almost all Yamaha arrangers, including T1 and T2. All the headphone outputs were stereo.

Hi Don

I had figured they would be stereo. It didn't make sense to me when I read the claims that it was in mono. I believe it was on this forum that I saw that bit of misinfo.
