I got the case that Yamaha designed for the T2 and it is a really tough soft case with a lot of protection but.............
the combined weight of the the ty2 and its case just defeats the reason I bought it. It is HEAVY.
So. I use the KN7000 Technics case that is a good soft case but a lot lighter.

Thats my problem I have a Gator 76 key case with wheels.......its 6 inches longer then the T2 its tooooo long, wont even fit on my rock & roller kart fully extended & weighs a ton, the case alone is 25.42 LBs YIKES!!!!Argggg!....who needs wheels ?.....I want a heavy duty zippered soft case like the Levy's Delux case I had with nice pockets on both sides I got from George Kaye a few years ago.....snug fit, super padded, with no excess real estate

Bebop, isn't the Tyros 2 soft case the same as the one developed for the T1? I was not aware they designed a new soft case for the T2...

I just got to looking online and did find a new Tyros 2 softcase. I think I'll return my T1 Case and order the new T2 case.

Hey I know you don't like the wheels. Just consider them to be fancy articulating corner guards. Then you'll be happy!

Regards,
Dennis

PS. I dont think the newer bag is available in the USA yet... or ever.

I too am interested in the new SCC-T2 softcase. When you order, please share which source you chose.

Thanks

What's wrong with wheels ? Pretend they ain't there - you don't have to drag the case around - just pretend they aren't there + the case looks cool with wheels. :P I got wheels too for my Roland VA-76 case: http://www.gigskinz.com/

I'm wondering what the outside dimensions are to the new T2 case. The reason I didn't get the T1 case is that it is way oversized. It seems they even had room to put the satellite speakers which makes it way too long to put sideways in most cars. I've been using the Kaces Porter #9, with wheels for both the T1 and T2. I do believe they come without wheels also.

Donny, try here. http://www.finecases.com/search/keyboard-cases-bags.html?make=Yamaha&model=Tyros%202

I got my bag there and am very happy with it (it has wheels but not a problem for me).

In the US, one "suggested" soft-case for the T2 is the YBS761. You can see it at:
http://www.andysmusiconline.com/product_p/yamaha_ybs761.htm

While I do like the looks and better fit of the SCC-T2, I doubt that I'll want to have one shipped to me (Washington state) from Europe.

As for the YBS761, I estimate the pocket width to be about 29" (based on pocket width's apparent percentage of stated case width). That would make it wide enough to hold the T2's plexiglas music stand. It might be better protected, though, inside the case -- maybe wrapped in a bit of padding, and placed underneath the keyboard. All this is speculation, of course, as I have only seen a few photos of the case (all similar to the one referenced here).

What's wrong with the Tyros 1 Case?

I use it with my T2 and it works perfectly. It's lightweight, the T2 fits nice and snug, there is NO extra room for speakers, it's built really well, has excessive padding.

It's a good all-around case. The new T2 case looks flimsy to me. The T1 case is semi-rigid making it easy to position the keyboard in the case with two hands.

I must disagree...I had NO problem placing the sattelite speakers in the YBTYROS bag. As a matter of fact, I had room to spare. The pockets inside the bag are laid out for the speakers. There is even a small label indicating which pocket are designed for the speakers. My problem with the T1 case/bag is it is designed to carry several things. What I want is a bag to carry just the board. That way the case has the best chance of being as small as possible. The T1 case is about 9-10 deep. That is pretty large for an empty bag. If I could lose a few inches off of that I would like it. I by a bag to prevent incidental scrathes not protect it from being stepped on or dropped. If thats the protection you want you should really have a hard shell case. Just give me something small , lightweight and a good handle. Wheels to me are not a big deal. However unlike Donny I won't care if it has them. My local dealer is supposed to be ordering one of the SCC-T2 cases for me. However, I believe he will run into problems getting it. Just a gut feeling on that. Oh well.

I'm currently using the Tyros 1 case but i find it quite heavy compared to other cases.... Just the soft case by itself weighs about the same as the Tyros (ok maybe i'm exaggerating a little bit) but it sure adds lots of weights to carry around gigs.

Donny,

Contact Tony Rome. Don had Tony's friend make him a custom padded gig bag for the Sd-1. It was wonderful. I know because I saw it when I was at Shreveport. It had Don's name on it. I'll bet for under 100 bucks you could get it made out of leather. Don's was cloth and I think he paid 40 bucks for it.

Dennis and anyone else who might be interested:

A German source for the SCC-T2 ( http://www.soundhaus.de/ ) has quoted me the following in US Dollars:

$154.80 - Cost of SCC-T2
$ 40.00 - Shipping to WA state
-------
$194.80 Total

Contact: Zoltan Beke
Email: webmaster@soundhaus.de

I'm still undecided. The bag does appeal to me, but that's a lot to pay as compared to the cost of more-local options.

Hey Charles,

Thanks for the link to the SCC-T2. Thats not such a bad price. Considering it is being shipped such a distance. I am hoping that Yamaha USA is supplying these bags as well. If so the cost should be a little less than the overseas price.

Thanks again Charles.

I forgot to mention that www.musicproducts.com has the SCC-T2 for $130 USD. Only problem is they are not selling to the USA anymore. I bought my PSR 9000 from them as well as a CVP Digital Piano. Now I can't even get a case from them. If someone outside the US wanted to be the hub for distribution I would buy one from them, if my local dealer fails to come through.

PS. They are located in Belguim if I remember correctly.
