I've just about had it with the EXTREMELY noisy output of my PSR-550. It's way too noisy to do any decent recording with. I end up having to do way too much to cut back the hiss when I'm recording on my Zoom MRS-4... I end up having to cut the Hi Eq settings very low (which then compromises sound), just to drop some of the hiss... It's time I said good bye to the PSR-550. It's a great sounding keyboard and all, but it is not suited for studio recording.. It needs to at least have stereo outputs in either RCA or 1/4" jacks.. This combination headphone/output isn't working at all.. I'd like to get my hands on a PSR-640 either used or new... Anyone know of any out there other than on Ebay? Also if anyone knows of anyone looking for a keyboard, my 550's now on the market...

Hey Squeak.

I have a pair of PSR-740s that I'm selling for $500 apiece. I also have a digitech MIDE Vocalist and a Digitech Studio Twin, and I'll let the pair go for $300. All are in excellent condition, and one of the 740s has never been used other than to plug it in and make sure it works. Email me if you're interested.

Travlin,easy,
Boy that's a good price.. I'd like to sell my 550 before I get another one.... If you still have them after I sell my keyboard.I'll be more than happy to take one of those off your hands... Hopefully when I sell the 550 you'll still have the 740 that has never been used... $500 is a great deal for that.. Now off to post sale ads for the 550..

I haven't advertised them Squeak, and I'm not in a hurry to sell them, so most likely when yours has been sold, they'll still be available.

Cheers,

Gary

Great! Just got off the phone with a friend a few minutes ago, who said that if I haven't found a seller by the end of next week he'll take it (maybe even before that)... I did a demo of the board for him before and he loved it.. He currently uses a Casio WK1600, and wants a better board... If he takes this board next week, I'll be taking that unused 740 off your hands.. Boy it'll be fun using that board too.

Sounds good to me. Send me an email and let me know what town in WVA you live in and I'll try to figure out a way to get it to you. Send it to keyboard@bcpl.net

If anyone else is interested in the other keyboard or the other equipment, let me know as soon as possible.

Cheers,

Gary

You're definitely better off with the 740. The synth has a lot more features, including 5 DSPs instead of one, vocal harmony and Organ Flutes.

You're right.. Just the DSP power is a much better upgrade.. Plus the 740 has a vocalizer which I can use now for back up vocals. Just having the vocalizer will allow me to utilize track space better when recording to the Zoom. Ahhhh and the modulation wheel too...
