Next, there was conversation here regarding the fill in volumes on some styles of the PA1X series being of different volume levels passing between the 4 variations.

George, first of all, MANY thanks for passing on the latest (official?) keyboard annoucement information. I hope you don't mind I posted this here starting a new thread as I feel it warrants special attention.

I personally am suprised that Yamaha has chosen to bring out yet another 61 note Tyros. I was so sure they were going to offer a new 76 note version. I'm not really sure how much of an advantage a CD (I assume recordable?) drive will bring, especially since removeable media like that offered on the PSR3000 imo seems to offer more flexibility. I only hope Tyros II will include removeable media like the 3000 has as well. In the back of my mind, I hope Yamaha has seriously considered adding (on Tyros II) the Music Finder features that I have begged for repeatedly, which would enhance & expand the power & REAL TIME use of the Music Finder ten fold. Whatever happens, I'm looking forward to getting more details from you as news become available .

Re: the topic of the Korg PA1X, my MAIN concern has been the out of sync delay which can occur when variation changes & fills are triggered. Has Korg corrected that yet?

Thanks. - Scott

They might have to change the name because TYROS 2 is already taken.

According to Mead-Johnson:

TYROS 2 is a phenylalanine- and tyrosine-free dietary powder for children and adults with TYROSinemia. The product provides the essential amino acids (except phenylalanine and tyrosine) as well as non-essential amino acids, carbohydrate, fat, essential fatty acids, vitamins and minerals.

I also hope they add the feature when playing a midifile, the chord is displayed. I know XF files will, but not GM files. Roland G-70 will have this I understand.

Sound engine and patterns (multipads) taken from the Motif ES, plus three slots for plug-in boards.

Hi Roy, you can accomplish this with a GM file, having the chord data recognized, and then have XF chord data added to the file, using Yamaha XG Works software. I attempted that quite a while back, and it worked. I recall that one of Michael Bedesem's programs also assisted in the process.

I had heard rumors a while back as well, that Cakewalk was considering adding a plug-in to Sonar to support XF chord data as well. Does anyone know if that ever happened?

If the Tyros 2 does NOT have 76 keys, I will not buy it! I will switch to another brand; no ifs, no ands, no buts.

And I hope it DOESN'T have speakers. They don't make sense for people that perform with their own sound system. You can't hear them onstage anyway's.

Maybe it will have an onboard hard disk recorder. Sometimes that could come in handy.

Perhaps Yamaha is trying to give the user the most options for file transfer.
I also think that it should be 76 keys especially since the first one is 61 keys.

We will just have to wait and see if Yamaha will come with any major inovations or just update old technologies.

Hi Scott!
I have XG-Works, and I tried this, but the chord recognition is totally wacko, and isn't correct at all. What I've had to do is to manual write in the correct chords, but thanks anyway!
