Russ - WOW ... thank you for that compliment ... between you and bruno123 I now have TWO fans
...
As for being a gentleman, most of the time I just try to think about what my father would do ... He taught me so much that I didn't appreciate until later in life, and not through words but by his actions ... Whenever there was a family problem - either on his side or my mother's - he was the first person they went to for help ... He passed at a very young age - 65 yrs old - the same age I am now ... I didn't realize then just how young he was ... He would have been very proud of your comment to me ... Thank You ...
A number of years ago I was telling a family member about a song I heard by Mel Torme and Gerry Mulligan ... The guy I was talking to played sax on Broadway, for the Merv Griffin
and Johnny Carson tv bands, etc, etc. After I told him I was trying to find the music to this song, he excused himself and went to the phone ... the next thing I heard was "Hello, is Gerry there?" ... he had called Gerry Mulligan !!! ... they were old freinds through the music business ... Two weeks later I had a copy of the original manuscript of the tune
... So I will look up Mr Moody's web site ... who knows? maybe he will share his melody line with me ...
