TheYamaha forum here in the Synthzone is hardly ever used. maybe we can start using it as the Tyros 2 Forum.
I suggest you post all your Tyros 2 info or remarks in the Yamaha forum instead of the GA forum where you have to wade through a bunch of posts always changing the scope of the original topic, to get to the good info we are looking for.
Please post your Tyros info there and also copies of the information you have already posted in this forum.
Let us make the Yamaha Forum into our own Tyros 2 Forum.
I will ask Nigel to change the name of that forum to the Tyros 2 forum.
Best to all,
Bebop

.

May I respectfully disagree?

I am pretty much of a beginner at arranger KB's. Everthing I read on this board is potentially helpful to me. I am a long way from being good enough to justify the purchase of a T2, and yet your comments about styles, techniques, what's hot and what's not never fail to give me ideas.

If you take your talent and experience elsewhere it will diminish my experience considerably.

NOT SO DOUGLAS,
It only adds one more click for you to get there and read all the posts there, in the Yamaha Tyros forum in the SYNTHZONE at: http://www.synthzone.com/cgi-bin/forumdisplay.cgi?action=topics&number=26&SUBMIT=Go
or you can also put a shortcut on your computer desktop

I disagree. This forum needs MORE posts, not less. NeW keyboard helps.

I'm not a Yamaha man myself, but that doesn't preclude me from being interested in this new wunderkind of theirs; and I can fully understand the enthusiasm of those who do favour the brand. It's just that, for me, I like to have all the topics 'under one roof' so to speak.

To divert one keyboard off onto another board would logically lead to each and every make and model being led off to its own interest group, thereby destroying this General board in the process.

Laissez faire.

I don’t agree with that.

I would not want to know that if I want to find out things about the Tyros II I would have to go to another forum.

The Tyros II is just another new keyboard and giving a forum with the name of the Tyros II or the likes would probably cause (with good reason) fans of other keyboard brands to want a separate forum for a specific keyboard. That would take away from the spirit of the General arranger forum.

If the fans of the Tyros II want to go to the Yamaha forum and post ATTII that’s fine (we can not nor should not stop them from doing that). But I don’t think that the forum should be named Tyros II or G70 Genesys or what ever the keyboard name.

My opinion: Let's keep the General Arranger Synthzone family together.

Since the internet community already has quite a few good Tyros dedicated message board forums out there already: Tyros2.net, SVPWorld, PSRTutorial, Tyros Yahoo Groups, just to name a few, I'm not sure I see the benefit of limiting the SZ 'Yamaha forum' to Tyros2 discussion only.

Because Yamaha keyboards (from PSR2000 to Tyros2) share the SAME basic core OS, discussions/questions/answers about one model may be equally beneficial to people who own & play other Yamaha models too, of of would be missed by them.

I particularly enjoy the Synthzone General Arranger forum for it's colorfully diverse membership, debate & discussion of ALL brands/model keyboards, as well as just hanging out with all the friends (Yamaha, Ketron, Korg, Roland, GEM, Casio, etc alike) I've met over my 5+ years on the General Arranger forum. Though I play a Yamaha Tyros today, I always remain open to adding another brand/model arranger.

Lastly, religating Tyros2 talk to the Yamaha forum may keep me from being able to express my enthusiam for Tyros2 here, though I suspect some here will find that a tremendous relief. - Scott

About a year ago there were many posts about fresh G70. Now we have fresh Tyros2. After 3-4 months General Arranger Forum will be as usual. Then it will be next New GreatArranger Forum.

I should disagree with splitting of this general forum.

I will also vote to keep the arranger discussion forum open to all arranger models, etc. and not make a seperate Tyros2 forum.
I found myself throughout the day at my music store logging onto the arranger discussion forum and I often don't look at any of the other individual brand forums for sometimes a month or two. It's just more convenient for me to only look at one place, especially when the arranger discussion forum has a broader appeal to most readers.

I'm with Scott, George and the others that like to keep the Synthzone family together.
I agree there are enough T2 forums out there already and Like George if I only have a couple of minutes I like to come here.

Even though I have ordered a Tyros 2, I would rather leave this forum as it is. This particular forum emphasizes the differences in all arrangers, which is why I like it as it is.

I will post all my Yamaha arranger posts here.

NO Problem People, I understand.
However, I will be posting all info I receive and anything else of interest to Tyros keyboard owners or prospective owners that are doing research in the Yamaha Forum in the synthzone at: http://www.synthzone.com/cgi-bin/forumdisplay.cgi?action=topics&number=26&SUBMIT=Go

I will also be changing my Yamaha email list to a Tyros Email list.

All discussion forums are open to all Synthzone registered members to read and post in. there are many, just look in the index.
There are already several posts in the Yamaha Forum with a lot of good info about the Tyros. You can come and read them, copy them and you don't even have post anything.
Best to all and thank you for posting your preferences to this topic

I agree that this site should stay as it is,there are other sites where each of us can go for our own instrument, and learn more about our instrument, but here covers a much wider field, ok you may still get the (mine is better than yours attitude) but the friendship here far outweighs any bias, and thats what makes this forum stand out against the rest.mike

I disagree, my opinion is that we shouldn't create "guilds" of yamahans, ketroners, rolanderanians and so on.

Yes, the Yamaha forum is dead and that is why I will stay here and read and post all info on Yamaha and whatever else. I mean really even though we hear about the other things that are out there, it sure seems to me that the General Arranger Forum is predominantly about Yamaha anyway, which in itself says a lot, not to be meant as taking anything away from any other brands.

I really enjoy the wide variety of input here at the GAF, whether from a Yamaha owner or other. I basically don't go to the other Yamaha or Tyros sites anymore,(except psrtutorial and Bob Gelmans Yamaha style forum once in a while), because, and I am thinking about one that started a site geared for that when the Tyros came out, after the thrill of the newness wears off, the site dies down a lot, and a lot of questions go unanswered, and becomes boring.

Just my slant.

Scott Langholff

As an after thought. If I got a new Tyros2...........I'd probably be on every new and old Tyros 2 site.haha
