Ok guys for those of you who have run out of things to use for target practice, here it is. A simple demo of me playing an arranger style and a giga piano at the same time. Recorded it in the Mediastation with Rezound.

The song is called "Above All". It is a Praise and Worship song
http://www.lionstracs.com/demo/guest/richard1.mp3

Ducking now.......
and yes I have my helmet on. LOL

Seriously, comments welcomed

Richard

Richard, you don't need your helmet for this. Very beautiful. Love the drums, bass and piano!
Great playing too.

Do you take requests? How about doing "On Eagles' Wings" for my wife. It's her favorite song and your style is perfect for it.

Richard......Nice song...your playing was very enjoyable, excellent Piano playing with much feeling, it had that
Chariots of Fire mood to it.......
what could be improved IMO is the
individual Track levels eg: string were way off in the background hardly audible, Drum fills to strong up front etc ..., Efx, & EQ mix, to give it a more uniform balance all around...was this done all on the MS88?

Thanks for Sharing ....& you may now take your Helmet off & come out of the Bunker!!

Thanks for sharing hope to hear more from you very soon!!

Richard very nice indeed. Got your mp3 loaded on my iPod and happy to have it there along with Scott Yee, DNJ, Don Mason, Dreamer and a few others who have posted songs here. I got a long commute to my job, downloading SZ members music makes that commute more enjoyable.

really enjoyed that richard. Glad that you are posting stuff using the MS.

Can you tell me if the style was one that came shipped with the MS ? If so didm you alter it at all ? and do you have any other giga sounds that you can substitute in the style sounds and repost. Its just so i can hear a direct comparison of the styles with giga sounds in them.

Thanks aqain for posting.

Hi Richard,

What can I say? I love it! You're an excellent player. The MS sounds great as well.
What other surprises have you got in store for us?

Hi Richard,
luv your piano playing.
If you have any piano solo's luv to hear them.
Was left hand piano a style part?? or did you play the complete piano piece in some sort of pianist arranger mode with drums bass etc as backing/
best wishes
Rikki

Thanks everyone for the nice comments. I'm glad that you enjoyed the song.

Dnj, I agree that the levels could have been mixed a little better, but I was trying to show what the Mediastation sounded like for the "non-tweaker". Of course I do lean towards that "in your face" kind of drums, a little on the loud side, and piano is always my primary instrument. I guess it's my comfort zone.

DonM, I don't know the song "On Eagles' Wings". I did a search, not sure if I came up with the same song or not. Do you have something I could hear or a link to it somewhere?

Spalding, the style was one that came with my Mediastation. I really tried to do it with an "out of the box" simplicity, but here are the changes I made:
1) Tempo was originally set to 52 bpm, I moved to 60 bpm.
2) I don't like busy styles at all and one sound(a gm piano) in one of the variations didn't fit the sound I was going for, so I turned it down. (push the volume button and move the corresponding slider)

I used my favorite giga piano as a lead instrument, all other voices were the ones orignally set in the style. No other changes were made.

Rikki, I played the left hand in a manner that would trigger the chords and hopefully
not sound like I was just triggering chords. That is the part I dislike most about all arrangers is that they force you to adapt your playing for chord recognition. I play a song one way on piano alone and a more subdued way with the arranger mode. It makes me think and I'd rather play free-er. But it's a good compromise.

This was the first song that I have shared with my SZ family thanks everyone for listening.

Richard

Richard,
this is a nice tune to hear, and a departure from the usual low quality Mediastation demos.
Thanks for sharing.
