Check this out... a song created both with and without RealDrums:

Click on "The new iTom song" and then on "using MIDI drums"

Thanks Bill,

I'll have to check into that.
It took me a while to realize my virus protection was actually causing most of my problems. Eventually got it all sorted out & downloaded.

Hi Bernie,
may actually be worthwhile checking out the Megapaks . I've got literally 100's of styles.
Biab has some amazing deals.
A while back they brought out 4 new style sets plus a soloist & one other item. These were priced at $29 each ( nearly $180 worth of software) as a deal the whole lot cost me $58.

Naturally by now all that stuff is included in the new 2007 megapak anyway.

I ended up with the upgrade from 2006 megapak to 2007 megapak for $69. It actually included the Real Drums 2.

The real drums are pretty amazing. It appears you can actually do your own & use them.

Even though maybe creating wav files of my sd1 drum styles wouldn't quite count as being "real drums" , some of the sd drum styles would still sound better than the BIAB midi drums, & it would give more style options than currently available.

best wishes

Hi Rikki
I am having a lot of fun matching RealDrum styles to my other styles, including older Megapak.

Hi Bernie,
didn't realize you had an earlier megapak.
Styles coming out of our ears ( haahaa).

Don't they make such a huge difference. I've only been listening to the demo's via the vsc3 dxi , be fascinating to hear what they would sound like via one of the better sample players.

I am using the Soundblaster X-FI, and have been notified the SD2 is ready to ship. The X-FI is on my main PC,and the SD2 will hopefully replace my old Echo pcmcia card on my new laptop.

I then must find time to get back to my Receptor and the softsynth world before my trusty KN7000 goes down.

It is nice to have colleague with the same interests.
Best wishes

BAIB is about the best software support available, they also have a good forum that gives quick answers to questions.
I have been using BIAB from the early ATARI days and the product has progressed to today standards.

Hi Graham,
me too. I first bought it for my atari.
Must admit I never really used it all that much, but it was handy to have.Fascinated by the progress over the years.

It was vers 2006, that I really took an interest in it again, now 2007 's real drums, truly amazing the difference.

best wishes

Hi Rikki and others,
do you know where one can find a list of the styles (or at least the musical genres) that use the new Real Drums? Also, can one build up one's real drums using stereo samples vs. just mono?
Thanks in advance.

Hi Dreamer

I counted 126 Real Drums in my initial upgrade. They are a mix of everything except hip hop, funk, rap, etc.
http://www.pgmusic.com/

A nice assortment.I think.
