eBay is a great place but you need to be very detailed about what kind of accordion you have, quantity and type of reeds, condition of bellows, etc. And you need to have a lot of detailed pictures of both the inside and outside.
I check the eBay accordions daily and see tons of garbage accordions with descriptions like "I don't know anything about accordions but a friend told me this accordion is great! All the buttons and stuff play and it don't smell musty."
That just doesn't cut it.
I actually am selling mine via private party as it's a really niche instrument (reedless accordion midi'd to XD3)and probably wouldn't have much of an audience on eBay.
I would recommend eBay 100% to somebody that wants to sell an acoustic, though.
Oh yeah, one last thing. A lot of times you'll see a description like "Vintage accordion from 1956! A real collector's item!" Well, let me tell you that accordions do NOT appreciate with age and anything from 1950 that wasn't cared for by a museum is going to be a piece of garbage in my opinion. I'm sure I'll get a lot of "Not in my case!" but it's generally what I have seen.
Good luck with selling it!
