Hi,
My name is Steve Deming. I want to take a minute to provide some new information and to clear up some things about Tyros. Tyros OS updates will be posted at the PK Club site for download. The size of the OS is 16 MB, not 40MB. Also, the information about having the unit come back to Yamaha in the event of an OS update failure, for example if interrupted because of power loss, was wrong. The end user would simply have to start the OS update over.
I hope this is good news to all of you. If U.S. customers have additional questions, please feel free to contact Yamaha at (714) 522-9000 or email ycasupport@yamaha.com.
Thanks,
Steve Deming Assistant Manager Customer Support Dept. Pro Audio Combo Division Yamaha Corporation of America
HI: Steve Thank You for the info, I'm glad to see the Tyros works better with the OS upgrade then what rumors were saying. Also glad that if the upgrade is interrupted for some reason that it does not have to be sent back to Yamaha. I hope you will stay around the forum with us. Thanks Denny
Hi Steve, Thanks for the info and welcome aboard! I hope you will post and reply as often as your time allows. I think it`s great , that we have a "Yamaha" rep. on-board. There`s a lot of fine people here that have "Yamaha" KB`s . I have a "Y2K" (PSR-2000). I realy like the sound but can anything be done about the "key`s" they just have a very bad feel and "action" to them. Other than that nice keyboard, O-BTW have you people ever thought about making your "instruction manuals" more "user freindly" ? Anyway great to have you on the forum and again "Welcome to our family and the best corner of the web" jedi
Steve, You're a STUD!......Who Da' man. This is in fact great news only surpassed by....Terry, your's has been shipped expect it in the next day or two. jam on, Terry
Jedi, If you think tha Yammanuals are bad.....never read a Korg or Roland one.....Excedrin headache # 458. And the one for my Alesis Andromeda makes my brain hurt Terry
Hi Terry, Ya, I guess there not too bad , but some things reguarding the "Y2K" , like "Reg.Mem." could have been written better. But all-in-all I see your piont !! O-BTW, Best of luck with your new KB Take care , have fun !!!! jedi
