Let's see, Fran, aren't you more of a Roland fan as I recall?

I'm with Fran what I love about the TYROS 2 is that I have a G-70.
Don I might be wrong but I think Fran was being facetious.

Donnie I really like the ease of setting up the parameters on the styles, songs and start up it seems easier than my 3000. Don has played it but seems to be withholding all his true judgment to keep from hurting my feelings or he desires one, but he has found some good points in the G-70, of course Don could play a keyboard made by Mattel and it would sound good.
I do love some features such as buttons and knobs for all the main functions I use, this is what Ive needed for my style of playing. After setting EQs and effects on the styles I use, the machine really sounds good, the vocal harmonist is outstanding. (Did I mention it is heavy)?

I don't own a TYROS 2, but I have been very fond of the soundquality of Yamaha boards, which is superior in the TYROS 2. Espescially the new superarticulation en Megavoices make the music sound great. (Music is about feeling that you can put in the sound. For that reason the DX7 already had a breath-controller - does it still exist?).

1. Great styles and out the box registrations.
2. A large part of the design and voicing was done by UK musicians and engineers.
3. Offers little competition to computer based arrangers.

I agree T2 sound quality is excellent....but remember the SA voices, Mega, etc will sound great only if someone who plays well is able to take the most advantage of learning their capabilities...if not they could do the opposite and sound the reverse. Even without the SA/Mega voices, etc it still is right up there in the highest quality sound caliber amongst any arranger on the market.

I found something tonight I REALLY love. I was playing around with the mic DSP and found Enhancer, I think the second setting. I love the way it makes the mic sound. I use reverb 2 at 30 for the mic reverb and now the Enhancer instead of Echo. Clean and "ballsy" at the same time. Is Ballsy a word?

ballsy (blz)
adj. ballsier, ballsiest Vulgar Slang
Very tough and courageous, often recklessly or presumptuously so.

I guess that's not the word you had in mind, DonM. But I know what you mean.

I love that I didn't spend $3500 for the T2 when it's new baby brother (PSR3100) will be a spectacular board at probably half the price.

I am not a performing artist so, as much as I love the quality and possibilities of the Tyros 1 (and now 2) I don't really deserve one.
A PSR3000 is good enough for me and it really comes very close to the Tyros 1. And now I am very curious what the PSR3100 will have on board........ and when it arrives!

I love the kick ass styles and sounds, ease of use, keyboard itself (no paint loss here and the corners are not sharp at all) but most of all the ease of how you can edit everything and put your own stamp onto it is great.
You can make and load in your own TVN sounds and even give the styles access to them, editing and creating multipads etc is easy once you get used to how they work, making your own voices is simple.
It's a great box of tricks and it's the first keyboard I've had in years where I can go on it everyday and never get bored with it.

Amen to that Craig.

Same here: it's SOOOOO easy to make this board your own.
Tremendous possibilities are awaiting you once you dig in.

As was stated many times before, the styles fit to a large number of tunes.
I listen to a style and know immediately several songs that will fit that style and I still have enough headroom for my own playing on top of it.

The T2 is really an ALL IN ONE package.

Love it, love it, love it!

Eric

I really like my Tyros 2 now that I have Donnies T2 sound system with the pair of Bose 161's to use in the motorhome. They do so much better here in the motorhome because everything is padded and insulated. Carpet on both floor and ceiling. This now sounds much better then the Z2300 I was using in here before. I have been playing this keyboard here all week and I am really liking everything I try on it. This is the first time I have had a really free time to dig into it as we are just parked for a week in the mothorhome with nothing else much that has to be done. I Like it a lot after the last 4 technics I have had.
Thanks again Donnie for selling me your sound system and the good job you did of getting it cross country to me.
Best to all,
Bebop

Guess I better chime in on this one.
I love that my T2 is so much lighter than my PSR 9000. I love that I have the option of taking the speakers with me or not. I love the large color screen. The feel of the keybed is great. I love the SUPER Articulation voices. I love that people are so impressed with the quality of sound that is produced by my Tyros 2. I love being able to record any performance onto the internal hard drive. I love being able to get onto the internet with my T2 and find almost any song I need for special performances.

I LOVE MY TYROS 2 !!!

Dennis
