I could not find the motivation to do music if i were down/depressed/angry etc..trance won't permit me to carry out such acts, thats why i'm a trancer,it's for happy, contented souls who want to become more uplifted.

Great Topic!!

Of course a little wine helps........but I never can seem to "schedule" my creativity. I can play my Tyros2 for hours during daytime hours. I am enjoying myself, but don't seem to get into it as much as when it is late, and I have to get up early the next morning. My best playing and creativity seems to happen all the time, at times that aren't the most convenient. Go figure.....................!!! -charley

Feeling mellow or sad.

There's nothing like the odd personal tragedy to get one thinking about playing some minor chords in soft strings.

I'm not entirely convinced Trance is only about feeling happy. I think the best trance can be quite deep.

I'm the Queen of depressing trance music. lol. If any of you haven't heard my stuff, you might like to have a quick listen: http://tinyurl.com/rjlwp

I wrote 'Time Wished Away' when I was feeling especially depressed

Thanks for your comments! I used a Yamaha CS6x synth for all the sounds.

For 'Weightless' The drums are commercial loops I bought ages ago. I used Steinberg's Halion for all the drums and it was recorded in Cubase SX.

'Time Wished Away' was recorded in XGWorks with a Soundblaster, using the CS6x for all sounds including drums.

I'm sorry I missed your question on this topic. I've been away off and on with school.

I never have had issues with the poly because I tend to record one track at a time in Cubase anyway. I have used the CS6x in a live band and never had any probs then either. If you add PLG expansion boards they increase the poly as well.

I don't know what sort of sounds the 9000 has, but I can say that it's better for trance than the PSR-3000 in my opinion. I mean, the CS6x was created for this type of music!

Feel free to e-mail me if you have any questions.
